Juan Sebastian Muñoz Arango

PhD Student | Research Assistant

Juan Sebastian Graduated from Universidad EAFIT in Colombia in 2009 and moved to Denmark to work on Unity Technologies where he worked as the doc engineer. He developed a parser that translates all the API examples from JS to C# and Boo automatically when generating the documentation along writing tests for MonoDevelop’s Debugger testing and keeping all the API docs updated. Thereafter, he moved to Chile as Core programmer at DILbrands where he, in collaboration with a team, developed a simulator for marketing research and training on full immersive VR environments in order to measure performance of trainees. He then moved to Dubai to work at SAE as a lecturer on Games Programming degree. While he worked with SAE, he also collaborated with local companies on visualizations and simulation projects.

Currently, he is pursuing his PhD degree in University of Arkansas at Little Rock, USA. His research work emphasizes on procedural content generation on indoors and expanding his knowledge in Virtual Reality under the guidance of Dr. Carolina Cruz-Neira and Dr. Dirk Reiners.

His hobbies are to ride motorcycles, play guitar and program small games.

Loki Rasmussen

Loki Rasmussen graduated with a dual degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Game Simulations Arts and Sciences and Electronic Arts. She worked for 6 months at Tapestry Solutions as a Unity Developer at the Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School making learning simulations. Before that Loki worked on shader design with the startup company Daydream.io, now Spaceout.vr. Loki specializes as a Technical Artist.

Ramiro Serrano

Ramiro Serrano

Ramiro Serrano Vergel is a system engineer. He has a Master's degree in Computer Science of Andes University from Colombia but also he received a Specialization degree in Media Creation. He was researcher for 2 years in the Visual Computing Group IMAGINE at Andes University. Also he was a Junior researcher in the Center for Innovation and Development of Research in software engineering CIDLIS-Colombia. In addition, Ramiro has industry experience with virtual reality, augmented reality and interactive media. After he finished his Master's degree, Ramiro taught as a professor Interactive Simulations and Interfaces & Tools for interactive media for 2 years. Before coming to UALR, he worked for Wise In Media as a developer for video games and interactive applications in the private sector.

Alex Jaegar

Alexander Jaeger

Originally from Leslie, Arkansas, Alex Jaeger graduated the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts, and enrolled at UALR where he is now a Junior Computer Science student. He has interests in robotics, automation, and virtual reality. Recently, he gave a presentation at the IEEE VR 15 conference in Arles, France, over the combination of OpenCV and Vuforia.

Isaac Wardlaw

Isaac holds bachelor's degrees in creative writing and English from Arkansas Tech University and is now pursuing a master's in computer science at UA Little Rock. He has a passion for storytelling and worldbuilding, with particular interests in game design and interactive programming. He is currently building a system for distributed board gaming that incorporates augmented reality and tangible interfaces, and he hopes to use it one day to help him spend time with his little niece, who lives nearly a thousand miles away from him. When not working, he enjoys learning about science and history, playing games, reading, and watching cartoons.

Kyle is one of our undergraduate students, currently working on redirected walking applications and algorithms. He is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with a focus in game design and programming. Kyle's current research interests are: Games with a Purpose, Virtual Reality applications, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.
